staff were very helpful, food was good and room with the view was fantastic
The view across Loch Ness
Our stay was good. We have been touring the UK from Australia for 4 weeks now and were very pleased with the room location. The view over the water was fantastic. Shower was somewhat difficult to use and hot water took along time to come through. In fact my shower was only luke warm for the entire shower. Toilet didn't flush very easily. Driveway was gravel which made it difficult to move heavy luggage in and out of the hotel. No lift, so lifting heavy suitcases up stairs was a bit of a hassle. Breakfast was at 8.30am which we were not aware of as we wanted to get going early for a tour. House keeper did let us in to the dining room earlier which was great.
The service was great, the room we had overlooked Loch Ness and was lovely. It had wireless internet which we have found very helpful.
The meal at night would have left us hungry, if it wasn't for the big dessert. All of the other courses were very small. Dinner cost 30 euro each person. Because you're out of town a bit, it is more convenient to dine in, but I wouldn't do it again.
Fantastic location. Family run hotel, staff very welcoming and friendly.
The hotel was reccommended, the location and views are amazing, unfortunatley the hotel is looking a little tired which is a shame beacause it has the opportunity to be outstanding with a little more attention to detail. The evening menu is a set 5 course dinner there are no other options of eating in the hotel in the evening, so that turned out to be a little pricey and also rather a lot of food if your'e not a bigger eater.
The hotel is ideal for a relaxing break surrounded by breathtaking views. We were impressed by the service from friendly staff and the food was superb. We were in a room with a forest view, our bed was comfortable, we had a good shower, and everything was clean and well maintained. We would definately visit again for another relaxing break.
Only criticism was the set menu. It was fine for us as we were only there for one night but if you were staying for longer it was quite expensive. A small selection of bar meals served in the superb conservatory would offer a choice.
Lovely staff and location make this hotel an excellent place to stay. The food is superb and the view of the Loch was perfect. Only slight niggle was the bed - it was very small and the mattress a little lumpy. Other than this we had a wonderful time.
Remote location and a reasonable view of Loch Ness from the front of the hotel.
the food menu is limited and due to the location during a long weekend proved repetitive
The owners, Mr. and Mrs. Martin Donnelly, are very welcoming and friendly people. Martin is an excellent chef as well, and the food is gourmet quality. The hotel itself is a bit out of the way, but very charming with a great view of Loch Ness and some wonderful walks. Probably due to the length of our stay (6 days), we were upgraded to a superior room, which was roomy and very comfortable.
The only thing we didn't like was leaving.
Views of Loch Ness were amazing staff very friendly tranquil location
The location over-viewing Loch Ness
A lillte too expensive considering the value
Our experiance from the very first time of walking through the door was excellent, the accomodation and and staff made the break very enjoyable and we are thinking of going back very soon
